Hi all,
Five of Cups
I'm pleased to announce that Patchwork Cacophony's new album will be released on 7th November. Currently one track (a single, I suppose) is streamable on Bandcamp and the rest will be made available on the release date. If anyone here is interested in reviewing it, drop me a private message and I'll sort you out with a preview copy.

The official press-release text is below:

Patchwork Cacophony's second album, "Five of Cups", sees multi-instrumentalist Ben Bell returning with another symphonic prog-rock album that refines and further develops the distinctive character of 2014's self-titled debut. The new album is written around a central lyrical theme, with sharp songwriting and suitably wry lyrics flanking his trademark instrumental passages and multi-layered vocal choirs.

The album comprises eight tracks and is a mix of longer multi-part "epics" and shorter pieces, with the emphasis on musicality rather than virtuosity. In a marked departure from the first album, this album features a couple of guest musicians with guitarists Marcus Taylor (Broken Parachute, Kashgar) and Tim Hall each taking the limelight on a track.

As with Patchwork Cacophony's debut release, Five of Cups draws strongly on the influences of classic-era prog bands such as Genesis and Yes while pushing forward in its own individual direction rather than simply mimicking the past.

Thank you for the feedback, noni!
I just saw the DPRP review myself and am pleased with it. I think most people will only discover this album — and indeed loads of great independent stuff — through reviews and word of mouth, but when they do it's great for an artist to hear about it!
