From this list I'd pick Living in the Heart of the Beast, which is actually my second favourite, just after Beautiful as the Moon - Terrible as an Army with Banners.

Amygdala (especially the original mix). Beast and Industry come very close though.

"Teenbeat" is my favorite, especially with "Teenbeat Introduction" and "Teenbeat Reprise" counted in. The whole trilogy really sums up everything I love about them and everything that makes them one of my all-time favorite bands. "Amygdala", "Ruins", "Living in the Heart of the Beast" and "Industry" follow very closely.
Categories strain, crack and sometimes break, under their burden - step out of the space provided.

Of these, Industry. My favorite overall would probably be Morning Star.

Industry, but they are all excellent.

Amygdala. I love this wonderful piece of music for its very 'Canterbury' sound and style, it also has some serene moments that mean the world to me.
Zrav has it right by saying Beast and Industry are up there as well. Hodgkinson's organ work is mind-blowing.

Industry. Love the complexity and intensity and though Chris Cutler would not thank me but it fits in well with a Crim type play list. For me anyway. Amygdala was a near first choice.

It's a tie between the Heart of the Beast and Ruins for me, they're both so....wow!
Classical music isn't dead, it's more alive than it's ever been. It's just not on MTV.

For all what they stand for, Henry Cow should probably be one of my favourite bands, but actually I often find myself just respecting their music, not really loving it. At times I suspect complexity for complexity's sake. Sure it's good super-progressive music, but...

That said, three of these click with me, namely Ruins, Industry and The Beast. The vote goes to Industry but these three are more or less on a par.

The Beast - it's long, complex, varied and has Dagmar singing on it Star.

The ones from Leg End. I listened to that album last night and Rotter's club too. Same family.

The first Cow album I bought was IPOL when it came out in 75, so 'Beast' it is but a very close call, I love everything this band has done!
