Obviously Deep Purple with all of their offshoots - After all these years I still find the keyboard guitar opening to Tarot Woman (Rainbow) a full on musical adrenaline rush.

I concur, an amazing album, one of Sabb's best, but Rick only played on the song "Sabbra Cadabra." Tony plays the keyboards (synthesizer, piano, organ) on "Killing Yourself To Live," "Who Are You" and "Looking For Today," and the harpsichord on "Fluff." Geezer played synth & Mellotron on "Who Are You," and Ozzy also played some synth on that one, plus "Killing Yourself."

Vanilla Fudge! Underrated band with heavy organ as a focal point. |

Another one I love is Inferno, by Metamorphosi. It's a keyboard fest.

Many of your vintage & contemporary HeavyProg and Psych bands have a good dirty mix of organ and buzz-saw guitar, for instance;

Because it bears repeating! This here is maximum keyboard heaviosity & essential listening for anyone who wants to hear a talented ivory-abuser go absolutey apesh*t on classic keyboards of all kinds. A full on prog album rather than 'just' hard rock, but it is prog that tramples through your brain in lead boots. Edited by Mascodagama - July 05 2017 at 00:17 |

Try this this fantastic video:
This lady can sing anything, there is some amazing organ here, and the band as a whole cover pretty well every possible base in the prog World. Check out the rest of their songs (videos 5 to 9) in this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcu8PoH_dtk&list=UU3W1XHNG7narRPTv2LmrGrQ&index=6 Whatever you enjoy in progressive rock, this band will give you a taste of it at some stage in their amazing 2014 'I Still Breathe' debut album. |

Perhaps Anekdoten? So far I only have their last album, but if I remember well it's got it's good heavy moments, plus lot's of mellotron.
