one of my favourite bands, of any genre, they got so spessial sound and mood, which i really appreciate, and the ambience created by Ash Ra Temple is ahead of time.

Definitely their debut

Join Inn a comfortable second

I don't have Seven-Up or Join Inn, but from the others, the debut. Perfect album !!

The debut is one of my favorite albums of all time. Schwingungen is also great, but lacks the spark of the first one. I like the bluesy opener "Light: Look at Your Sun" and how it compliments the rest of the album. I do like Seven Up, although from the musical standpoint it's probably not the greatest album. So, obviously, the debut. Very special band!

The debut, followed by Join Inn.
Seven Up is my least favorite.

BTW, don't forget to give Le berceau de crystal a listen

I voted for Join Inn on the strength of "Jenseits" which is better than "Traummaschine" from the debut. However, "Amboss" is much better than "Freak 'N Roll". You need both albums basically.

Dieter Dierks was the real artistic genius of Seven Up, burying the worn out blues on side 1 beneath massive washes of synth noise so it sounds like we're not only hearing this stuff across the gulf of years, but also from somewhere far out in space, received in faded and distorted form through the intervening cosmic radiation Star. The debut's still far better though Wink.

I ought to check out some of the other albums. I don't care for their debut, though. Fairly mediocre guitar on side one, and then a disturbing lack of guitar on side two. I do like other Krautrock generally.

Thank you for adding to my vote on this.  Ash Ra Tempel are Desert Island or Monk's Cell music for me.  INVENTIONS FOR ELECTRIC GUITAR being essential in the transitory phase, as well as BLACKOUTS.  First played on SPACE PIRATE RADIO in 1974, Pedro AKA Moshkito, sent Manuel & Rosi my initial SPR t-shirts, with the GRAVEN IMAGES Nun logo.  I believe they wrote back and said the shirts were big like tents.  STARING ROSI got a lot of airplay.  That sexy, stony voice after 2AM.  All the LPs were played.  When I was at the Hollywood Bowl, unknowingly being filmed in MONTY PYTHON AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL, my next box seat companion was Dr. Timothy Leary.  We had a lovely chat about his days at the Tempel.  cheers!

Voted for "Ash Ra Tempel", although I could have voted for "Schwingungen". Trippy guitar soundscape pornography at its best!
