I can't find anywhere specific to put this, so mods move it if need be.
A thread for us to ask about the meanings of lyrics, clarification of lyrics we think we've heard but may have misheard, or anything else to do with lyrics.

Really, though, just a chance for me to ask the question that has been dogging me for the last seventeen years: What is an "interior lulu"??? As in the song on Marillion's Marillion.com, obviously...
Anyone who knows I would be forever in your debt.
Confused

I would guess that Lulu refers to the Scottish singer and actress, or it could be referencing a double toilet.

"As you sit there on your toilet
And me on mine
We both get up to gaze inside
To see the Lulu
Interior [of the] Loo loo"
Just a fanboy passin' through.

The answer is here: www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=49915

Basically, Lulu is the name of the character played by American actress Louise Brooks (mentioned in the first verse) in the 1929 silent film Pandora's Box, so Brooks's face above the bed would most likely be this movie poster:

"interior" refers to something inside so an interior Lulu would be those aspects of Lulu's character in Pandora's Box (sexuality and innocence) that the person in the song carries inside them.
What?

Dean got it. At least I was on the right path by mentioning it being a name (and of an actress, albeit the wrong one).

Okay, well that's a whole lot deeper and more obscure than I expected, but at least now I know. Thanks Dean!
