Here are some hard rock bands from the 70s you might not have heard but might appeal to prog fans. Have a listen to a track by each band, then vote on the one you enjoyed the most. I'll only have videos for songs that still have radio airtime.

Also, I'll post a few comments for you so you don't have to:
"Glad Rush is the only hard rock band I know from Canada"
"There were Rush copycats in the 70s?"
"[Band name] is fine, but they're no Rush."
"All these songs are under 12 minutes long. Waste of time, no vote."
"Haven't heard of most of these, so no vote from me!"
"Radio airtime? Radio sucks. Radio is just a means to control the masses. I only listen to music on vinyl."
"Rush."

TROOPER
PRISM
STREETHEART
CHILLIWACK
(there's some heavy-ish guitar playing anyway)

I once had vinyls by Trooper, Prism, and Chilliwack in my collection as a gift of his old goods from one of my brothers when he moved out from home. Can't say I ever really listened to them. Anyway, those three have all been staples of classic rock radio and so I know their bigger hits. I vote for Chilliwack -- "Fly at Night" is a damned fine song.

I've been to Chilliwack, by the way, they have a WalMart there.

Just a fanboy passin' through.

Hey, don't sell Chilliwack short! I drove through (read: past) it a few months ago and noticed they also have a White Spot. And Best Buy. Even a London Drugs.

Prism's only really good song with Armageddon >> only that album is worthy of something, IMHO

Trooper had a very good debut, but little else

Streetheart (my choice) has two very good albums (the first two)

Chilliwck's first two albums are fantastic Amerindian-laced psych rock, but by the mid-70's they were bland AOR (not even hard rock, IMHO)

Chilliwack started out in Vancouver as The Collectors >> killer proto-prog ClapHeart

And their first two albums are very worthy.

Saga is great of course, but why is Triumph not in this list (or on Progarchives).
