Zappa over Wilson and Gabriel...

He neither drank, smoked, nor rode a bicycle. Living frugally, saving his money, he died early, surrounded by greedy relatives. It was a great lesson to me -- John Barrymore

1a) Frank Zappa 1b) Mike Oldfield I think that even the greatest Zappa records - Hot Rats, Waka/Jawaka, Roxy & Elsewhere, you name it - can't beat Oldfield at his best. But sheer volume of Frank's work (and his consistency in the 70s) gives him a nod. 03) Peter Hammill 04) Steve Hackett 05) Peter Gabriel

Mike Oldfield
I did expect to see Al Stewart on the list as a 'prog tinged' solo artist
