I really want to like Formula E but the cars are too slow and I'll be glad when they finally ditch car swapping next season.
I really wanted to like the new era for IMSA but the Cadillac's have such a huge advantage it's killing the racing.

Formula E's all street course schedule is awful, they're too quiet and yes, the car swapping is dumb. The series has potential, but it's not what I like about racing.

I liked the high level of competition between the drivers and the fact that they are considered "too slow" doesn't bother me as some of the best racing I've seen has been in junior formulas like North American Formula Atlantic. "Too quiet" doesn't bother me either. The turbo Audi LMP diesels fixed that problem for me.

If they went to actual road courses, I'd pay attention more. Most of their tracks are too narrow to harbor any decent racing.
F1 this weekend in Melbourne and the Supercars are there as support. Honestly, I'm more excited for the Supercars.

I have to agree with you about the temp street tracks used by FE. They should be part of the F1 weekend or at least run on the same tracks as F1 at other times. Yeah, Australia this weekend. Let's see who did their homework.

FE cars would be rediculously slow on pemanent race tracks, they look terrible around Donington for instance, it's why they use short street circuits. The problem with them being so slow is that they reach v-max very early on the straights so when 2 cars are moving at the exact same speed for the majority of the straights length it makes for rather bad racing IMO. It is changing though, the cars are steadily getting faster and the car swapping will be gone next year when the new battery comes in. Practice times from Australia, a bit disappointed that Ferrari isn't closer. Pos

Enough talk about Formula "slot car" and the parade of Cadillac prototypes. Go Grosjean!

Qualy times, nice to see Vettel get stuck in there. Pascal Werhlein has been withdrawn before FP3 as a legacy of his Race of Champions crash at the start of the year where he injured his neck, Antonio Giovanazzi has taken over and is a Ferrari young driver. Pos

No, but I'm disappointed all the same. F1 has been a bore lately and I was hoping the new specs would shake up the competition, at least in the short run until the cars are better sorted. I'm very tired of F1's "follow the leader" status quo, unless in rains. That's why I'm impressed with the level of competition in FE. There is actually overtaking and out breaking. Let's see if F1's new cars follow suite.

I fell asleep minutes after the start. Did anyone actually race each other on the track?

Wow! Ferrari!
I will resist the temptation to say Ferrari may be a challenge to Merc this year because I remember when I, and others, said that after Malaysia 2015 and how it turned out Will just wait and see if Merc will finally face competition or was this just one race.
Otherwise pretty standard results. Congrats to Esteban Ocon for scoring points in his first with F.I.

First win for Ferrari since September of '15 and also the first time I was happy to see Vettel win a GP! I still prefer Kimi, though.
Also, Kyle Larson swept the NASCAR weekend at Auto Club in Fontana. Some good, young drivers finally starting to come into Cup and perform well against the the veterans. The future is here!
