OSANNA and other bands, that were doing some form of theater or other.

That's not to say that Genesis was not good, they were good in their early days, but the enjoyment of their early material kinda goes poof ... when they became a louder rock band, instead of just a folk/rock band telling some stories. I think PG, MR and TB knew they had to get to a more rock edge to get better and bigger. There were way too many folk/rock bands doing way too many things at the time (and since, specially in England), that would make it harder to distinguish things for those that were doing better work.

But Europe, had a history of theatrical performances, and if you want to check out a good list of these things and how some of these got started, you should check EUROCK, and the really early magazines that had some amazing information about this theatrical stuff. The only thing they don't do is mention Brecht/Weill, but they did not need to, as these were used for many a political and other events.

Noawadays, people use rock'n'roll to ignore everything else ... what else is new?

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Naw, I just heard that Gabriel had the fox head mask made up in accordance with the album at the time, Foxtrot. The red dress he got from his then wife.

TRESPASS - brilliant one-album band!

There are no movies on U-Tube, but trust me - this music should be heard!
