I say that because despite all of the crazy time signatures, weird stylistic changes, rock or metal, he always seems to have an amazing groove going on, which is rare for prog where the drummers are usually flashy.  The fact that he can make a danceable beat out of 7/8 sections is a feat in itself.
Highly underrated drummer, in my opinion.

Stewart Copeland is a great drummer !! And he was with Sonja Kristina (for many years) - singer of Curved Air.
I was excited back in the day when Stew did double bass-drum in the epic long track on Air Conditioning. And his drumming in The Police was anything from 'simplistic'......

Copeland's amazing. His forte is how interesting he makes a simple beat sound. He even said a straight beat is something that a lot of drummers can play, but can't play well. Then when you hear him do it, he makes sense. He also said reggae drumming is the only rhythmic form that's truly night to the day (my wording) of rock/jazz. The guy's brilliant.

I could be wrong, it's entirely possible he wouldn't mind at all, but I don't think the OP really wanted to discuss Copeland here, fellas, but rather the Nemo drummer he compared him with.

Clearly he wanted to discuss the Nemo band drummer (and to be clear, the modern Nemo from France in Elcectic Prog, not the 70's Nemo from France in Eclectic Prog, and not the drummer on the first album I presume, but the one on subsequent Nemo albums).
Just a fanboy passin' through.
