PROTOFONIA (Brazil) for Eclectic Prog


Protofonia is a group of instrumental music of brasilia, formed by André Chayb on the guitar and teremim; Janari Coelho, drums and percussion, and André Gurgel on the bass. It has influences of jazz in all its aspects, progressive rock, free improvisation, brazilian rhythms, and contemporary classical music and electroacoustic.

Eclectic certainly sounds about right to these ears. Not the most melodic music I've listened to in recent months...but at least I didn't hear any bum notes - despite André Gurgel's apparent contribution in that department! LOL

Edit: The YouTube link given in the o.p. for Blavatskundum! is in fact the whole album...All seven tracks only come to a total of just over 12 minutes, so the bandcamp and spotify links aren't really necessary in order to hear the whole thing.

For clarity, it appears Blavatskundum! was never released on its own but was instead included in the limited edition CD release of A Consciência do Átomo.
