This is not including any of their EPs or remix albums, but all of their studio albums. I've not heard NIN even once mentioned on the site, and though they have nothing to do with prog, I have a strong liking for them.
Please vote, and comment below what and why you picked your album.

A great discography, but I always default to the synthpunk, Coil-by-way-of-Ministry debut Pretty Hate Machine. Codified a whole sound and theme for Reznor's whole career that he variously built on and stripped back as needed. And how the hell he got the next best thing to Front 242 to break out I'll never know, but I don't need to care.

I'm going with The Fragile, perhaps because I have a lot of good memories with it. I did a semester of college in London and I remember walking around the streets (and in the tube) cranking that album.

I've only heard The Downward Spiral once and, to be honest, it didn't blow me away. I found it to be decent, but not much more, sadly. And it seemed that it would be a favourite of mine after reading the reviews. I will definitely give them another listen in the future, though.
Year Zero, although the Broken EP is my favorite NIN release.
I've never understood why NIN is on here though.
On where? Prog Archives?
It has nothing to do even slightly with prog, but it's a great band. One of my favorite alternative/industrial bands.
Yeah, NIN's on here under Crossover Prog. I really like Reznor's work, but I've never seen it as prog (Although I suppose it could be argued that Ghosts is progressive electronic.)

You can let me know when you do so. :)
Start with their Broken EP.
Maybe I will listen to it today. I'll let you know. And you listen to Oceansize

I actually might listen to Oceansize today. I've checked out Riverside in whole, and expanded on whatever I didn't know from the second tier bands.
Have to listen to Oceansize before tomorrow, cause Blackfield V is coming out XD. :)

You see I believe that each type of music has its own "perfect conditions" for listening. I listened the other day to The Tired Sounds of Stars of the Lid while walking fast (something I do daily) and it didn't do anything for me. I was actually bored! Some days before that, I had listened to it for the first time, sitting at my desk and I felt a sense of absolute peace. After the walk I did the same and the original feeling was there again. Now, these may seem obvious, but I was surprised by the huge difference of the impact the same piece of music can have on you. Maybe these two NIN albums will truly shine when heard during workout/running/walking, but I heard them while travelling by bus. Or I just don't like them. Who knows?

This is something I struggle with continuously. I always try to find the right album for the right moment, and I always pick out the worst of all choices XD.
If you heard them while travelling by bus, then you were using earbuds or beats... right? I always play NIN through speaker. Maybe keep that in mind.
