It sounds amazing, the lyricism is great, just about everything is top notch.

Happy for you.

To me Metallica is about everything I don't like. The terrible production, the awful, awful drumming, the bad riffing, the horrible singing. The only thing they had going was the guitarsolos.

Fade to Black sounds like Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd but then way worse. The end-solo is very cool though, but the drumming really ruins it.

I can understand that boys from the age 14-17 would love Metallica, I grew up with kids that loved the band. But I know of no-one who actually loves Metallica right now.

It's a Pavlov reaction. I'm quite allergic to anything relating Iron Maiden and Metallica.

I'd reckon I'd turn this thread into a Metallica appreciation thread.
Such a talented bunch.

Pffft! Jethro Tull beat out Metallica with their 11th best album!
...a vigorous circular motion hitherto unknown to the people of this area, but destined
to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...

Never been a band I've liked much, they never tickled my funny-bone, not even the "classic albums"
Classical music isn't dead, it's more alive than it's ever been. It's just not on MTV.

Well, I do like Metallica... though I haven't really liked anything since (and including) St Anger (haven't heard Lulu yet, though). However, I do love Fade to Black itself, one of my favourites from the band,

I agree with everyone here.
I can't stand Mettalica, even when I started listening to metal about 25 years ago I couldn't stand them, but I must say Fade To Black is awesome!

Whilst I enjoy a couple of their albums, Metallica are the weakest of the 'Big Four' of Thrash.
Fade To Black is fine. Prefer other tracks more.

^ "big 4" does not refer to music quality as many think but to popularity. Those 4 bands were the most popular in the genre.

Fade to Black is not my favorite Metallica song either.
I wonder what it would do in a poll against One and Welcome Home :))))
