Harri Kuusijärvi Koutus is a Finnish band led by accordionist Harri Kuusijärvi. Drawing on various contemporary influences the group creates a distinctive soundscape with taste of 70 ́s prog rock, jazz and world music fueled with improvisation – avant-fusion-accordion-jazz, as it has been described.

— In other words: unexpected, curious, striking, offbeat, rockin’, avant-garde, and f**king good.

Juha Seitz, Soundi 2014

— Koutus is startling, stunning and ferocious.

Hi,

It would be helpful if You included the name of the subgenre (JRF? RIO/Avant? - judging from Your description), You wish to be classified under in the archives, in Your thread's title. The relevant team's members will pick up Your suggestion quicker that way.

Best regards,
Bartek

I've just been listening to the 2014 album, and it's fantastic stuff! Should be heard by everyone - with the possible, but only possible, exception of those tragic souls who abominate the accordion.

The band should certainly find a home here - in Eclectic or Avant/RIO, I'd have thought.

Thanks for listening! RIO/Avant-Prog, JRF and Eclectic winning here, maybe the first one would be most suitable after all? (Updated to the thread's title)
