I really like 'Guilty' - and what about Soft Machine's 'Soft Space'?

Summer Lightning has a great guitar solo at the end. When it comes to 'prog disco' nothing beats this:

I don't remember any of those
As for prog disco I very much recommend COS' Greeneldo. Disco meets zeuhl and Canterbury.

I like Summer Lightning quite a bit. Brilliant guitar solo and nice melody and singing. Also the supposedly "disco" rhythm works pretty well in this one. One could actually even call using this a minor innovation in prog.

Speaking of disco; am I the only one to have purchased Todd Rundgren's collab with Lindström and Emil Nikolaisen called Runddans? Such a headscratcher of an album - almost on the verge of becoming avant disco with the same sort of ebb and flow feel as the Atom Heart Mother Suite.
Recommended to disillusioned John Travolta fans and folks into pants.

There's nothing disco to Summer Lightning. Excellent groove (wich Saga and Rush uses a lot in the 80's). Steller guitarsolo and great vocals.
Also an excellent album.

Nothing wrong with a good disco song though. Actually Miss You is the only Rolling Stones song I really like....
And Earth Wind & Fire is very, very progressive.

No mention of "Cup Of Wonder" and "Hunting Girl" (both from Jethro Tull's Songs From The Wood)?

I intended to suggest that as soon as I saw the thread title. Big smile

I can't participate in the poll, since I'm only familiar with Camel's first four albums. However, I dislike Guilty, so my vote would probably go to Summer Lightning.

Oldfield's Platinum Part 4 - North Style (which I actually like) recorded at the same time also has a disco beat.

To me, Tangerine Dream's Force Majeure has also has prog disco feel during the guitar, piano, drums section lasting between 4:20-6:40.

Yes, the original album is an absolute masterpiece! Big smile
Classical music isn't dead, it's more alive than it's ever been. It's just not on MTV.

There any many suggestions I never heard, but I'm quite curious about.

I think there's plenty of Disco in it, without resorting to the obvious clichés, unlike "Guilty". I do enjoy the album more than the average progger as well, except for the last track, I think it's one of their absolutely worst.

I agree and I have some EW&F in my collection, which I spin occasionally.

I think Part 3 is even more, it reminds me more specifically of Italo Disco.

Sympathy vote for Oldfield, the live version on Exposed is pretty great.
