What’s with all the tales love? People actually believe longer songs and albums are better? Give me an album with 40 strong minutes or a strong 4 minute song over a double album or a 15 minute song with the same amount of strong music and the the rest filler

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Do these albums include the extra gems on the remixes? Tull would smash Yes

Warchild goes from an average single album to a fairly good double album.
Aqualung goes from a good single album to a very good double album.

^ the WarChild extras are superb, the original release would've been a smash had the tracklist included most of them

Yeah I love good godmother, glory row, March the mad scientist and Saturation. Pretty much on par with Tull music through the 70s. I love the Too old to RnR extras too. Pity they couldn’t find the remaining tapes. There was meant to be a double album worth for that one too

Top 5:

Tales from Topographic Oceans
Heavy Horses
Close to the Edge
Minstrel in the Gallery
Thick as a Brick

Tull's best was never going to beat the best of Yes IMO. For what it's worth, TAAB is my favourite Tull album, followed by Songs from The Wood.

Relayer is 50% filler

No it isn't

It's approximately 35% filler

I jest, but the weakest track for me is Soundchaser, which to me just sounds like a string of random unrelated ideas, pasted together to make a track. It has it's 'moments' but the rest of the album is sublime IMO.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

The second half of Gates is filler too lol. Sound chaser is good for 2 minutes. To be over is the best track overall but even that drags on at the end. Yes started running out of composition ideas in 1972 and had to add chunks of filler on ctte, toto and relayer while gfto sounds cold
