newly a member but I've been using the site for the past 2 years or so, favorites have to be Relayer, The lamb lies down on Broadway and Thick as a Brick, but I'm really enjoying getting into a lot of Brazilian and Scandinavian symphonic bands recently.
If anyone has any information on how I can create a poll then it'd be greatly appreciated as I'm currently doing a dissertation based on the different factors that have impacted the progressive scene, and looking into the mentality of progressive fans is one of my main questions so where better to find that information than here.

Thanks to anyone that can give me any info and prog on :)

You need 40 points to create a poll. Every post gives 1 and each time you are thanked you get 5.
Alternatively you can create a poll somewhere else and post the link here.

What's impacted the progressive scene?   Very little.   It's impact on music, however, was, in the words of one fat moon-faced politician, yooj .

surely there's been quite a lot that's impacted it, I mean development of technology regarding both instruments and recording equipment has had it's impact as well as huge societal differences, I mean in the 70's someone like myself couldn't get their hands on prog from anywhere in the world as easily as I can so that's a massive change to the scene. Not to mention the influence that each progressive era had on the next and the environment of the music industry at each point.

I initially read it as desertion, and wondered what other prog site you had deserted from. LOL

Have a thanks from me as well, for the laugh. Welcome, and good luck on your desertion dissertation. Wink

Thank you to everyone that has given me a warm welcome to membership, as someone who gets very little contact with other prog fans it really warms my heart to see the great deal of support and sense of community within the universe of prog.

a community? oh hell yeah it is. Just keep your hands on your wallet and on your wife. It is a close knit community of rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, sh*t-kickers,Methodists. misfits, geeks, freaks, space cadets, old farts, young whippersnappers, Genesis bobbleheads, Camel emptyheads, and Trump voters.

If you can imagine it.. you'll find them here.

Here.. have a thanks to add to your collection.

I'm just a paralegal, so don't fit into any of Micky's categories, but I recently finished my dissertation if you want any general advice.

p.s. avoid the Trump voters. It never ends well.

As the ex- husband of a paralegal I have it in good authority you are in at least 4 of the above subgroups.  By association if nothing else.
