Sorry if this topic has already been debated.

After all these years, does anybody know from where the so-called "Pink Floyd Trance Remixes" come from?

It was once supposed those remixes where the work of ambient techno band The Orb, however I seriously doubt it due to the great inequality of the remixes.

Does anyone has further information on these discs?

PS: BTW, I recommend the trance remix of "Sheep", melted with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's "Mustt Mustt".

I also like the trance remixed.
I first saw them 20 years (at least) ago, and regretted not having bought some. The colored sleeve were amusing. At the time, I wondered how they was made... and this was a mystery until I gave a search on YouTube and first heard them 2 years ago.
It was not a real shock, because they are not all the same level, and it is not always my cup of tea, but there are some interesting ideas, and some good parts. And though being a fan of Pink Floyd, I like these works.
The Sheep remix is good, I agree.
So it seems The Orb made some of them, confirmed by the fact that they released Metallic Spheres with Sir D. GILMOUR himself !
Seems that now, remixing Pink Floyd has become a trend ;-) seeing the countless remixes of Dark Side Of The Moon remixes, but rarely interesting.
Also found Momentary Lapse Of Reason remixes, not bad at all, and more trance-electronic:
