IO Earth announcement: https://www.facebook.com/IOEarth/posts/1862452843967025

IO Earth are currently working on their fourth studio album, entitled "Solitude". The follow-up to their critically acclaimed "New World", it returns to a single disk format and will have a very pronounced theme dealing with the struggles of mental illness and depression. As always though, while the music may address darker issues, it will also consist of uplifting and beautiful melodies, giving the overall feeling of hope and redemption.

Dave and Adam are using a different method in the writing and recording process for this album. Where they have, in the past, written everything away from the band members and then brought it to them to learn, they are spending more time with the band to hone in on the different instruments' parts.

Dave: This way, we can hear the fully realised song, complete with live drums, bass and everything well before we plan to go into the studio to record. This gives us time to listen over and over again, come up with new ideas and allow the songs to mature before we have the parts recorded.

Adam: On previous albums, we have found that the programmed or sampled drum patterns on the demo have not always translated well to the live drums, when played by CJ in the studio. So we have ended up writing in the studio, when we should be recording! Spending this additional time with the band members on all the parts will make the actual recording process quicker and easier than ever before.

This will be the first studio album to feature IO Earth's new vocalist, Rosanna Lefevre who joined the band in late 2016 and recently wowed the Cruise To The Edge audience with her take on IO classics such as "Home" and "Cinta Indah".

Rosanna: I can't wait to get into the studio with the guys. The new material is really powerful and emotional and I'm excited for the IO Earth family to hear it!

IO Earth plan to have the new album available for purchase online in late 2017/early 2018.

IO Earth will also be the headline act for this years Prog’Sud Festival in France on Saturday 27th May.
