How would you rate this Rush long-side epic from Hemispheres?
I give it 3 stars, this song is too long, it has some musically great moments(esp.first 3 minutes), but also some boring and very repetitive parts.

1 is too generous as far as I'm concerned, but that's what I voted for.

Its a horrible sequel to Cygnus x-1, which was exciting and riveting the whole way through. Hemispheres is like the smoke break for the Rocinante galley staff.

Five stars. The greatness of the piece is more than just that it's long and epic; it's the music. It is the best thing on the album and a real accomplishment for a heavyprog band in '78.

Vastly inferior to part 1 on A Farewell to Kings. I remember (I was 20-ish) seeing that they were doing a part 2 and getting super excited. Only to be let down by the boring excesses the band made. Ho hum.
The rest of the album is brilliant however.

2 stars methinks. I find it rather dull. My mind always starts to wander during it.

Dunno. I like it though.
...Hey can someone make one of these for every Rush song? Might be easier to figure out what Hemispheres should be rated if I knew how I'd rate everything else. Edited by HemispheresOfXanadu - March 10 2017 at 10:12 |

5 stars. It's one of those Rush songs that takes me to another place. It may be a bit repetitive but I don't care.
