Limelight falls into the category of " ruined by Radio ". That and Red Barchetta. Not Ttheir fault. I like Hemispheres the most. There's my two cents.

Amongst Rush fans, I'd say "Losing It"; A lot of fans seem to give that tune high praise, and although it was cool to see it performed live on the last tour, I prefer my Rush on the heavier side. |
I hear you, but songs like "Losing It" demonstrate Rush isn't a one-trick nor two-trick pony. |
And besides, it gets heavier the more the song progresses. It goes from total synth at the beginning to awesome rocker towards the end.

Okay, that's fair. Overplayed as opposed to overrated. Spirit of Radio falls into that category as well. I don't put Barchetta in that bucket though. That song never got the amount of radio exposure that Limelight, Spirit, or Tom Sawyer received.

'Sawyer, although it's humorous on that documentary when Peart states that he's always afraid of messing up live on the song's beginning.

Not a single song, but the Moving Pictures album as a whole. I often see
it praised as their best album, even from a prog rock audience. It is
absolutely a great album, and definitely a stunning example at how a
band can produce catchy and accessible prog rock music, but if I'm in
the mood for some amazing prog, I'd rather put on Farewell to Kings or
Hemispheres.

Not only I don´t like SPIRIT OF RADIO, I think its an effing HORRIBLE song and I will never understand how it got that much praise. Then pretty much every Rush "Epic" is overrated. As they never managed to fully write a concise one.

Yeah, you know I watched an interview with Peart (maybe from that same documentary) where he said that "Tom Sawyer" is the most challenging song out of the entire discography. Aside from the intro, he mentioned that the guitar parts are sometimes in a different time signature than the drums . In any case, I'm doubling down on "Tom Sawyer."

I hate to say it because I'm a big Rush Fan but I'm going with 2112. I love the beginning section through The Temples of Syrinx, After that, not so much. ( Oh , I'm going to get a beating for this! )

| 2112 is ok, but I prefer Lamneth as far as early epics go. I love the wierd atmosphere. I feel very little urge to listen to 2112 these days.

Me too but I've always felt that way about 2112. Sounds weird for Rush fans to not be enamored with 2112 right? However, I find Caress of Steel to be a far more interesting album. Part of the issue for me is that side two of 2112 is merely okay. I love all of Caress

To consider Rush to be the definitive overrated band is quite frankly, batsh*t crazy. There are far more less talented and less prolific bands that could rightly be put in that top spot.
