Which of these classic albums do you like the best? Of course to call some of these a classic might be an understatement. |

It's between Pawn Hearts and TAAB, I give it to Pawn Hearts believing that TAAB will get enough love anyway.

I will be deeply perplexed if anybody votes for Misplaced Childhood... Most of these are great, Images and Words is decent, Brain Salad Surgery and Moving Pictures are passable enough I guess... Misplaced Childhood is unlistenable. Definite vote for Pawn Hearts.

Well, with 1865 ratings and a score of 4.24 it is not only their most rated but also has the highest score of any Marillion rating on here. To be honest I'd be surprised if there wasn't at least one person who voted for it. Also, it's worth mentioning that they were the highest profile post seventies prog band from the eighties.

Misplaced Childhood was a very close second to SEBTP for me. I prefer a lot of albums to any of those on the list, eg: The Snow Goose Subterranea Grave New World The Tain Argus The Masquerade Overture Second Life Syndrome The Mountain Folklore |

Everything but Genesis for me. One classic album that I love is Renaissance Live at Carnegie Hall. My fav Jethro Tull is Aqualung and I would have added ELP Trilogy to the list, but everybody has its own.
Magma's Kontarkosz would fit as well. Misplaced Childhood is good, I like it but it's not a classic.

Fantastic list alas it lacks two of my most likeable prog albums - Foxtrot and Meddle. That's why I went with "Other" on this occasion, albeit, if there was no such an option, I would vote for... Close to the hedge rather than Dark side of the Mood

Today, I'm voting for DSOTM.
Misplaced Childhood and Images and Words aren't classic prog albums IMO. Decent efforts, but generally outclassed by any act that influenced them. |

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

The only ones I care about at all are ITCOTKC, PH and CTTE.
Of the bands involved I think King Crimson was the greatest, and VDGG is the one that has meant most to me in my life, but of the albums on offer I easily vote CTTE as the one that gives me the most pleasure. Boring choice I know, but there's a reason why it always wins these classic prog album showdowns.

These classic album polls are always problematic as most of these are in any prog collection (I have had most of them for years). To me, the most exciting and intense experience is a little number called 'Karn Evil 9', what's more and on the same album they pack it all in to an even more compact number called 'Toccata'. Pure prog genius!
