Your pick between these two albums?
BNW for me.

Two great albums, but BNW for me loses steam in places. Blood Brothers is amazing as well as hearing it live.

Train Of Thought for me is the top for prog metal, its my fav Dream Theater album and its chock full of pretty damn good metal playing. It has some of Portnoy's best drumming IMO as well as Labrie's vocals.

Both albums aren't really that great to me but:

BNW has The Nomad and TOT has Stream of consciousness, both are great songs, apart from that they don't float my boat. Dream Theater's attempt at being heavy is rather lackluster and Maiden had alread started to deteriorate several years before.
Classical music isn't dead, it's more alive than it's ever been. It's just not on MTV.

BNW is the best album post-reunion for Maiden IMO. ToT was released during the downslide... still strong but not like in the 90s. BNW gets my vote

One of the best DT albums against Maiden by-the-numbers . Easy peasy.
Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

I would like to vote for Train of Thought, since it is my favourite album from one of my 5 favourite bands... however, I havent heard Brave New World. Still, for what I have heard from Iron Maiden, I believe if I knew it I would vote for Train of Thought. I guess I will need to end up checking up some more Iron Maiden... I have to get at least a few live albums from their come-back era.

Train of Thought, one of DT's best albums.

Brave New World is pretty good, but I would vote Maiden if it was Dance of Death.
