Sub-genre could be possibly crossover or whatever with neoclassical, ethereal and gothic influences.

Short bio:

It was a long way through several death and rebirth cycles. A conceptual experiment, started in 1998 and initially conceived with progressive atmospheric rock in mind, but eventually evolved into neoclassic modernism, diatonic serialism, polyphonic sonorism, and other fascinating streams of contemporary music realms (but still strongly bound to progressive and gothic roots). NOMENUM currently exists as a studio project with Konstantin Nemov as composer and lyrics writer with various session musicians and vocalists. NOMENUM is from Kazan, Russia.

Albums (click album covers or titles for their bandcamp pages):

Claves (2016)

1. nomen unum (2:37)
2. nomen alterum (1:30)
3. nomen tertium (1:48)
4. nomen quartum (0:58)

"Claves" is a short instrumental EP, originally started as a set of etudes for piano and cello, and eventually evolved into what it is. Composed, arranged and mastered by Konstantin Nemov. Artwork by Julia Fadeeva.

Edge of the Dream (2012)

1. At the Line (7:41)
2. Edge of the Dream (4:38)
3. The Ocean (4:49)
4. Reflection (5:13)

"Edge of the dream" is an ethereal cantata portraying "borderline states" from several points of view, and for a diligent listener - providing a journey through them. It is split into 4 tracks for convenience, however actually is a single solid composition.

Music and lyrics by Konstantin Nemov. Cover art and booklet design by Julia Nefedova. In-cover art by Anatoliy Leushin.

I like your name, I'm a big XTC fan too.

I've never heard of this group before, it sounds awesome.
Classical music isn't dead, it's more alive than it's ever been. It's just not on MTV.

Great music, but it isn't prog rock. This is contemporary classical music and, great as it is, doesn't belong on progarchives.

Sorry! Thank you for sharing, though; the music does sound incredible. Thumbs Up
when i was a kid a doller was worth ten dollers - now a doller couldnt even buy you fifty cents

The thing is that of course this not a prog rock in classical sense, but definitely has derived from it, replacing usual drums/bass/guitar/synth with instruments usually defined as orchestral. So it can be easily treated as prog performed with a different set of instruments ) For contemporary classical music it is too much "riff/pattern-oriented", "odd-signatured" and "rocky" :)
