Hey all,
my uncle has birthday today, and I'd like to make him a present of a good prog album released on March 25. Can you recommend any, or at least how to find them by the criteria? Thanks!

HI,
You'll be able to search MusicBrainz database by release date here https://musicbrainz.org/search You can combine other tags too - take 10 minutes to learn your way around the query synthax (a tip: don't use wildcard symbol in the beginning of the date, do it like this 1???-03-25 or 2???-03-25) Good luck |

I tend to listen to my collection by albums release dates, but I couldn't find anything exactly from the 25th of March. I can see Genesis' And then there were three released on March the 24th and Camel's Moonmadness from March the 26th though. How old is your uncle, perhaps he would accept an album issued on the year he was born in? Or Year + month? When it comes to Marches, with disregard to particular days, there were more than a couple of lovely progressive albums issued: Kansas - Kansas Camel - Mirage and Moonmadness Jethro Tull - Thick as a brick Marillion's Fugazi and Script for a jester's tear Pink Floyd - Dark side of the Moon and Division bell King Crimson - Larks' tonques in aspic Genesis' And then there were three + Duke Mahavischnu Orchestra - Birds of fire Haken - Aquarius

Not on the 25th but the 24th, yesterday, Steve Hackett just released his new album "The Night Siren".

Haven't used the musicbrainz. Augusts also carry some of the greats: Brad - Welcome to Discovery Park (13) Mahavishnu Orchestra - The Inner Mounting Flame (14) Miles Davis - Kind of Blue (17) Yes - Drama (18) Moon Safari - Himlabacken vol. 1 (21) Renaissance - Prologue (August release assumed, as recorded in June/July that year) Camel - Stationary Traveller This only is based on what I have got in my collection though.
