Topic: Awful album, outstanding song Posted: March 27 2017 at 15:30
Just what's in the title of this thread.
My choice is "I Would Have Waited Forever" from Yes's "Union". The song brings me back more than a memory of the impressionistic Yes from the early 1970s.

I like a few of the ABWH songs on this album including the one you mention----also like Holding On---Ankor Wat---Shock to the System and Silent talking----the Yes west stuff is awful.

Agree. Don't have much use for the Yes West tracks. Always wondered why ABWH just didn't release their work and maybe a few more tracks as ABWH 2.
well that was the intention but money came into the picture when Anderson met up with rabin and a money making reunion of the two bands was cooked up by the powers that be----much to the horror of Bruford and Howe.

I might be sticking my neck out a bit here, but over the years I have come to realise that on the studio disc of Floyd's Ummagumma I only really like the song Grantchester Meadows and find the rest of the material particularly uninspired and bland.

It's essentially an unrealized Floyd album. Most of the material are effectively demos and should have had the input from the rest of the band. Then The Narrow Way might have been given more value than DG's demo.
Sabbath. For me The Eternal Idol had one outstanding track - The Shining the rest was a bit ordinary. Worse was to come with Forbidden. Great song Guilty as Hell. The rest... oh. dear. god. Having said that the demos are superb. Maybe they'll get officially released...
Or the only reason to get A Collection Of Great Dance Songs. DG's re-recording of Money. It's an odd compilation - a poor album comprised entirely of great material.
