Prog can be anything. Thats what prog is. Yes it can be about wizards and goblins but it can also be about chess. (Your Move by Yes). Or it can just be about the same things that normal rock songs are about. Thats the great thing about progressive rock, it can be anything. And before anyone gets mad i know the song is actually called Ive Seen All Good People thats just what that part of the song is called.

The cover is by Jimmy Cauty, otherwise known as Rockman Rock, co-founder of both The Orb and The KLF.

He as also responsible for drawing one of the most popular LotR posters of all time:

^Both Bob Johnson and Peter knight are former members of Steeleye Span. This album, based on Lord Dunsany's novel The King Of Elfland's Daughter, could easily qualify as prog folk. It's also a concept album.

At the bottom of my garden, I came upon a little man, dressed all in green and white.
He had his head between his legs and had his hands on the side of his head.
I asked him...."Are you a Goblin?"
"No", he replied "I'm a little pissed on real-ale and I've got a head-ache"....

I wondered about that. Though not for long.

Wizards, yes. Goblins no.

I wish that a sky wizard would come down from his magic kingdom and eradicate that annoying Danko Jones advert.

Prog is about masturbation from a non-sexual perspective.

ive listened to alot of prog and have not heard too many songs about the aforementioned groups of people

Anyone who declares "Hobbit Rock" is at all an accurate description of progressive rock is showing himself to know nothing about the subject matter.  I can't speak for neo-prog or latter day (nu-)prog, but definitive Prog distinguishes itself by being cross-genre, combining unlikely  influences into a cohesive whole, and being more interested in musicianship than in lyrics, story or song concept.

That said, Led Zeppelin and Rush have recorded the rare song to do with such themes.

Well, to be fair, with Jon Anderson's presence, Yes is kind of 'hobbit rock'

But how hairy are his feet?
