i need to make a progarchives thread were i celbrate and hale Youtubers that have informative videos on music theory.

I have in particular found Rick Beato to be the most wellrounded, informative, generous, knowedgeable youtube vlogger yet. A good pedagog, with a energetic and childlike passion for music, be it Bach or Max Martin and everything inbetween be it instrument, songs and theory, about production tech talk to how to improve as a musician, to train your hearing. so i reccomend Rick Beato
def not my favorite, but he does have some good stuff on his channel. I like 12tone, Adam Neely, Samuel Andreyev, David Bruce and Nahre Sol as well for music theory.
forgot to respond to this discussion earlier; I liked some videos I saw by Rick Beato but when it comes to anything with actual music theory involved I'm only subscribed to Tantacrul, who I found from his video about Cardiacs
I've seen people praise Adam Neely and as a drummer I feel I should be interested but I've never felt the urge to click on his videos... any ones you would recommend?
The ones about the slowest rhythms humanly possible and scotch snaps are entertaining and well-researched.

I saw the Tantacrul video on Shostakovich, which is pretty good. Haven't seen much of him aside from that, though.

12tone is probably my favorite for just heady concepts (little to no instrumental or composition application involved) and his ideas and arguments are the most well-reasoned of the ones that I know. Samuel Andreyev has some great interviews with the Trout Mask incarnation of The Magic Band including members who have never given interviews. He's also adventurous and ambitious in the music he analyzes which includes Ligeti, Schoenberg, and Jandek (the Jandek one is a little pointless, I admit). David Bruce is very entertaining and a lot like Adam Neely, except his focus is more on classical composition. Nahre Sol is a lot of fun. A lot of her early videos, in particular, are more about piano technique and I've heard they're very good for that, but I like her "(Genre) as Approached by a Classical Musician" videos mainly. Unlike the others, she presents herself mostly as a learner and not as an expert which is refreshing. She's also a killer pianist and has the best videography of any of the music Youtubers. I think she has a PBS show as well.

Also of note: Andrew Huang who is a great source to learn production and sound design and introduce yourself to modular synthesis. SamuraiGuitarist for honestly just being great on camera. He uses way fewer editing cuts than any vlogger I know of while still retaining a good pace and not stumbling over his words. SimontheMagpie for being bold and drunk enough to execute some of the stupidest production concepts. (It does get a little old, though).
Alright I watched some more by Adam Neely and it was quite enjoyable, your suggestions were good! Though apparently he's a bassist, not a drummer (not sure why I assumed that...). I've seen some stuff by 12tone and Andreyev before I think but I don't remember for sure. All that other stuff I still have lined up by the way.
