I know very little of them. I remember hearing some link of Face Book and it was good. I guess I should check them out eventually.

It never hurts to listen yourself and make your own judgment.

I like what I've heard over the years, but I've only heard about four albums. I remember them being very popular with goths back in the 90's.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I have only a cassette tape which a friend gave me many years ago. I remember to have liked them but I don't have a tape reader anymore and honestly I don't remember enough.

I've listened to a few songs... if anyone had any albums to try or told me they weren't all that amazing, then it would've helped me figure out what to do next.

Fantastic band, a big favourite of mine. All of their albums are excellent, both musically and vocally. Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry are both incredibly good singers, especially if you are into low-pitched voices as I am. Check this song from their "Into the Labyrinth" album - one of my all-time favourite male vocal performances:

A friend of mine had a lot of their tapes and CDs, and he would play them like crazy. Not my cup of tea, but I found them quite inventive and certainly were very good musicians.

Great band. I was thinking of creating a poll for all their studio albums, but didn't have the time.
You can do it yourself Michael, if you want, and we'll continue the discussion there.

Ambient, Darkwave, Goth - very good band but you have to like slow developing dark moody stuff.

I will go right ahead and do so! I've listened to about half of Anastasis, and I've really enjoyed it!

I like bits and bobs
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Hi Raff!

Great choice, probably the one I would have picked.  That album and Aion are my favourites.  Serpents Egg very good too.  The first few are a bit too 1980s industrial for me, and Spiritchaser is a not very successful attempt at world prog IMO

oh really?  LOL  I can't wait to hear those that are successful then. I bow to those with superior subject knowledge and thus I don't know if it was successful attempt or a genuine clusterf**k b*****dization of world prog... but one thing I do know.  I simply love the album haha

Sadly though I appear to be the only forumite that does AngryLOL No worries though.. I'm used to being odd man out around here.

Micky - I only had really heard Aion up until 5 years ago when I listed to all of them in succession over a couple of weeks and found them to be steadily improving right up to Into the Labyrinth which I thought was their pinnacle.  Spiritchaser seemed like the wrong move.  Maybe I'll give it another chance...or maybe I'll put on a Loreena McKennitt album instead.   Tongue

as noted above by the Queen of Prog herself... Raff is a huge fan and tried for years to get me into them.  Spiritchaser was the one that finally clicked and sealed the deal.  Do give it another listen...  I've come to like the other albums but Spiritchaser itches the DCD very erotically.. and without having to pay for dinner or engage in small talk

Third category - never heard of them.
I guess it's time to check them out and broaden my horizons!
Welcome to the middle of the film.
