I have been so busy with the job these past two weeks that I hadn't heard about this. Absolutely out of left-field; very sad news. With all the accolades of Holdsworth on public record (including by Frank Zappa and Eddie Van Halen), all I can say is he was one of the most unique expressionists with the guitar that I have ever heard - truly inspiring! R.I.P. Allan Holdsworth...

Hadnt heard until John Etheridge dedicated a song from 'Bundles' when i saw Soft Machine earlier this week. Totally shocked, went home and played 'One of a kind' and the the first UK lp.. a totally unique guitarist, playing like nobody else. Very sad news and my sincerest condolences to his family.

Really unfortunate. However, because of his death I was reminded I need more of him in my collection. Just picked up Metal Fatigue on vinyl.

Sad loss! I haven't got much of his playing in my collection, that will be rectified in the next year of purchases me thinks.

Classless, tasteless, and completely out of place when associated with Holdsworth's passing. And where's the ever-meaningless mehs and pffs? I do like that quote, though.

Clap  well done community!

also gives me a good idea to try when my bad habits put me in an early grave...  you bitches are going to pay for my funeral.

The Big Mick.. the Allan Holdsworth of the internet...umm hmmm..  that goes on my gravestone.

I'm just seeing this. I'm shocked and very saddened.

Can't get a much better recommendation than that.

His work on One of a Kind is truly one of a kind. The man was a legend, no doubts about it.
