A teenager in the 70s I discovered prog rock from a curious source - that amazing guitar solo at the end of The Carpenters' song Goodbye To Love. It got me tracking down tracks with guitar solos and hence lead me to prog rock. Yes, ELP, King Crimson, Genesis, Curved Air. But not so keen on Pink Floyd apart from their really early albums.
Also a Bowie fan of the 70s, still recovering from seeing Starman on TOTP...
Spend a lot of my time now on YouTube listening to the old prog rock and realising there's a lot of new stuff out there too. A second childhood, I guess. Glad to meet folks who have such great taste.

And you've come to the right place, Jamie, plenty of 70's boys around, with the same hunger for good music.

Welcome !

Re-discovering Prog was for me like a return to my childhood (sci-fi as well with me). Welcome to the site. There's tonnes of disparate music spanning various decades to discover throughout PA's categories.
Just a fanboy passin' through.

You're in London?

Do me a solid. I'm in London for two more days, then I head back home - which means I'm going to miss the Mew show later in the month. They are worth seeing. See them for me.

Or don't, depending on your tastes :) They are proggy, but not straight up prog.
