Topic: Jethro Tull - Songs From The Wood (The Country Set Posted: May 22 2017 at 06:05 |
Let me bring you...songs from the remix!
I spent the weekend immersing myself in the latest Jethro Tull reissue set and found lots to enjoy.
I've put together a few thoughts for you:
Hope you find something of interest inside.

Nice read, thanks Valen.
Don't really care for the remix, honestly and bought it for the concert mostly...and the alternate cuts.
No Sight and Sound '77 on the horizon so this live one should do the job.
will probably unwrap during the summer holidays.

Same here with the concert. My only complaint is that I wish it lasted longer - "Nothing Is Easy", "Reasons For Waiting", "Sweet Dream", "With You There To Help Me", "Mother Goose", "Cold Wind To Valhalla", "Crazed Institution", a jam version of "Bad Eyed And Loveless", "Cup Of Wonder", "The Whistler" - but what I got was still pretty good. I had a wide smile on my face when Anderson put a quote of "My God" in one of his flute solos.

Ordered mine and should be here any day. Old Aces die hard is meant to be a classic track.

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

3 replies to a great anniversary release lol. This thread at Steve Hoffman forum has nearly 2000 replies. This must be a metal/Genesis forum these days

I always loved the textured playing on this album, and I expect the 5.1 treatment will be stellar. Thus far the SW remixes have not disappointed.
