This is a hard choice for me, since both albums mean a lot for me in a very special way. I'll go with Amused to Death, but Gilmour's 1st album would have been my choice another day.

I enjoy David Gilmour's the most. There are some songs on there that I really love. On the other hand, the only song I can listen to on that Waters album is It's a Miracle. (And let me reiterate again: Is This the Life We Really Want? is the best Floyd-related album ever released, with Floyd-worthy production and arrangements, and brilliant songs. It's Waters back in genius mode.)

I don't remember David's first album so well, but for what I recall, Amused to Death for this one.

Hi,

Amused to Death, is by far the better of the albums and also one of the best solo efforts ever done by any PF member. And the collaborations in that album are magnificent, up to and including Jeff Beck ... and the whole sound and production of this album is superb and deserves some consideration.

DG was, and is, a very nice album, however, it is not as good (for example) as the video with DG at the time, that had (I think) a tour in France, and that whole thing rocked way more than this album, and I can not even find that DVD yet. I think this was made around 1984, or 1986. This concert should have been released as a CD, as it deserved it, however the various folks that played on it, from many different places, might make this a very difficult album to release and get all the rights in order.
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Went with Gilmour.....I have always thought Waters was a mediocre bass player and singer...but he did come up with some very good themes for the Floyd albums.

I have heard some David Gilmour concert from the 80's, I think it was called "New Game" and was released on VHS. I really liked that one, great versions of Murder and Near the End, plus some Floyd songs. Indeed I wish it was released in DVD/CD.
