Granted Bowie is the greater singer of the two.
But lyrically, musically, presentation.

Bowie's ending to Blackstar has a beautiful pace and haunting harmonica.
But "Picture This" with it's familiar Waters song menace, it has a freakout instrumental section to the groove "I Can't Give Everthing Away" created.

There many be more "Blackstar" Vs "Is This The Life We Really Want" polls.

I have only heard the Waters one once, so I don't think I can apreciate it well enough to vote, but I believe I will end up liking Black Star much better. I haven't heard so many Bowie albums either, but for what I have heard from compilations and live albums, I have the feeling Black Star would just as well end up being my favourite from him.

I'm just listening to Waters album, and since there's this thread comparing both albums, I thought Waters one would have worked very nicely, perhaps better than it does, if it had the same core backing band Bowie used on Black Star... yeah, perhaps it would have departed more from the classic Floyd sound, but I believe it could have given it an edge to make it stand out more.

Blackstar is Bowie's second best album, so it's kinda obvious, lol
Classical music isn't dead, it's more alive than it's ever been. It's just not on MTV.

I agre that Blackstar is his 2nd best album, only if we agree that his first best album is:

Ziggy Stardust/Hunky Dory/Alladin Sane/Station to Station/Low

I go Station to Station, that one gets me on so many levels (and I greatly appreciate the occult subtext on that album)

Haven't heard Waters' album yet, but I can't imagine it won't be better than Blackstar.

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

As a whole Blackstar wins, so I'm going for song by song. Others will be a lot closer.
But I suppose I should wait for more to listen to both.
