Well?

It's the debut for me, and Larks' in second.

Tongues, no contest. Imo, it's the only album with no filler from the original incarnation of the band.

Most days I'd go with Larks' but today I'll go for Wake since I know it'll take a beating otherwise, and I have quite a soft spot for it. Embarrassed

The debut is my least favourite of the trio (though it's still very good), and I'd put Lizard and Islands above all three.

Court for me, though I do love Larks very much too. The thing with Larks is that most of the album is much better with live versions... with Larks part 1 being the most extreme one since I only liked it until the latest line-up released it live, adding the flute that really fixed the song for me. Though on the debut, I do like Schizoid Man live much better too (played by the Wetton era line-up).

I will admit that part of the reason for my choice is probably the overexposure suffered by IN THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING.  Yes, yes, we all know that it's genius and one of the most groundbreaking albums in the history of rock music.  However, I listen to LARKS TONGUES IN ASPIC more often, which probably suggests why I picked it.

I'll go for the underdog, Wake. I actually like the early KC very much, and enjoy the whole package, until red. The 80s KC is quite good too, and the rest of their catalog, but the 70's period KC is quite special, and I don't have a favorite among them, but rather, it all depends on the mood I'm in that makes me pick an album to listen to.

Larks > Court >> Wake
He neither drank, smoked, nor rode a bicycle. Living frugally, saving his money, he died early, surrounded by greedy relatives. It was a great lesson to me -- John Barrymore

Poseidon by a noticeable margin
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Debut is a bit boring and Larks has a bit of filler

LTIA first choice, but I actually like Poseidon and ITCOTCK equally.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Every KC album is special but that five man line-up with Wetton produced three perfect albums and Larks is my favorite.
