Hackett rehashes a great but old tune, putting more distortion and speed into it.  Howe performs a brilliant new melodic piece that has a timeless air to it.  Guess which one I voted for?

I actually think there is some good guitar playing on GTR----actually won best guitar album the year it came out from Guitar Player or one of those magazines. It suffers from bad production and a crappy singer. It's about as prog as Asia---maybe a little more like Jeckle and Hyde and Imagining ....

Sketches in the Sun is a fantastic composition.  It could have worked in Yes or Asia as well.  It showcases Steve Howe's unique voice, and creates a beautiful atmosphere.

Hackett to Bits was better as "Please Don't Touch," on the album of the same name.  I have never been convinced by GTR playing it.

I owned the GTR album before I knew who Steve Hackett was, and I only knew Steve Howe from Asia.  A Child of the 80's, finding his way toward prog...

Hackett to Bits was the one song I replayed on that forgettable album. However, Gates of Delirium wins over about anything--except maybe Hackett's solo on Neal Morse's 12 (off of "?")

GTR - what a sh#tty album. The rehash of what had been committed on an earlier Hackett album was unnecessary, but so was GTR. Sketches' is a lovely little number, so I went with it.

Howe obviously. Bad song comparison though, Hackett has much better songs to be compared to Howe's.
