I guess I find it strange or surprising that I never really seem to warm up the string of Zappa-classics and fan-favorites from 1972-1975 (=The Grand Wazoo, Over-Nite Sensation, Apostrophe, One Size Fits All etc). No shame of course, but I almost took it for granted I'd started loving them at some point. It seems I'll stick with the Mothers of Invention era (+Hot Rats).

I seldom disagree with prog masterpieces, I'm deep main stream progressive, however I'm embarrassed that I don't like any XTC album except for Apple Venus.

My prog journey has solely been on my own... I have never met any progger in real life.. Always surrounded by people who have never ventured beyond popular Indian and mainstream pop/rock/metal I never had someone who could recommend me some new music.
In the beginning it was just popular hindi music, then came pop.. . It was all about the instruments. Then came Classic Rock/Grunge/80's Hair Metal/NWOBHM. Music of the Classic Rock bands resonated with me the most. Then Radiohead & Porcupine Tree led me to Progarchives.
I have been constantly looking to broaden my horizons ever since I was a Cricket crazed school kid....no sense of shame attached with the prog that I currently don't enjoy.

Anything by Gentle Giant - they really should have grown on me by now beyond just a few tracks. Apologies - I am clearly not a true prog fan - I'll get my coat..........😩

One that I have always had trouble with is YS- Il Baletto Di Bronzo....
