Eno jumps out to me in the E canon, Echolyn and Eloy I love as new groups I've discovered lately, ELP can be bottled well with 'Welcome Back' 3 album set pretty much, the first 4 ELO albums are special to me.

Indeed Eloy and ELP, despite not really being among my favourite bands, are the best E-bands listed on Progarchives for me (can do easily without ELO). I vote Eloy for somewhat nostalgic reasons.

ELO is the only band I like (or love) among these. To add some interesting info on endlessly fascinating topic: my favorite band with a bandname starting with an "E "is probably Embryo.

Eloy out of these
the first E band that popped in my head was Enchant.
also Earth & Fire was great early on, up until '73.

I picked "other" but man it's tough to pick between Embryo and Eskaton. Eider Stellaire, Egg, East Of Eden, Elephant9 would all be ones I'd pick over ELP and Eloy with ELO down the list a long ways.

ELP are from England though. ;)
Anyway, Easter Island are good. Very under rated band but I only know their one album from the seventies.

This is not easy... As a teenager in the early 80's I discovered ELO and they were one of my favorites. In the 90's Eloy became one of the bands I most listened to. Still love Inside, Floating, Power and the passion... Vote: Eloy +1 Someone mencioned East of Eden, which is also a great great E band.

Egg over any of these, but I'm not a die-hard fan of any of E prog groups I know of (non-prog is another matter)

Hey it's good to hear about others that some on here might not know about. I forgot about the Enid.

I'll probably end up voting for ELP, but it's really a tie between them and Eloy.
