Three different, but about equally good releases from this year in the RPI subgenre.

Which one would be your favourite?

Edit: Could not get "Il-lūdĕre" in its proper spelling as a choice option Ouch.

I'm not sure yet?   My preordered Unreal City hasn't arrived yet.

I've heard all three, wasn't too crazy for the Il Tiempo one, but really adore the other two. Decided to vote for Maxophone.

I've only heard the new ITDC which wasn't my cup of tea. I am interested in the other two though but will probably litmus test first before purchasing. This thread is a good reminder so thanks Robot...err sorry Robert

This

But so far my RPI album of the year is Quarto Vuoto, or maybe Panther & C.

The Maxophone one has proven to be very deceptively strong! It takes until about the fourth track for the REALLY good stuff on it to start popping up, then it pretty much stays consistently great the rest of the way (even if it doesn't sound much like the Seventies debut album at all).

Still haven't heard the ITDC one myself, but the Unreal City is reliably good as well, pretty much their fans are going to adore it. It probably gets my vote here out of it and the Maxophone one...just!

Will wait to hear the new Unreal City, but I suspect it will be that one.

First vote for the Waterclocks-Temple. These albums may form a triad in my AotY list, all three solid fours, but the ranking sequence will be a matter of doubt until the day I post it. For the moment the Tempio clicks most with me. Maxophone (leans towards Gentle Giant) is the most consistent, I love the fourth track (one of 2017's best) of Il Tempio's album (on the heavy side of RPI) and the closing track of Unreal City's album (classic RPI) is glorious.
