I guess Wilson, even if the last two albums aren't all that great.

No quoting since I've been hit by captcha with every post made tonight (damn this place!!).
...but yeah I had no idea Roine had released albums under his own name. I bet they won't change my mind though as every tune I've heard of his, regardless of band, has had a similar sounding signature to them that does exactly nothing for me.
He is one of those musician that I really like personally and share a lot of in terms of thoughts on music and what he listens to himself...yet his own oevre remains uninteresting. I feel similarly about Chris Martin from Coldplay and the frontman in Green Day. Great personalities and views but, for me at least, flavourless music.

From the list Morse, followed by Stolt, I don't care about Wilson at all.

Why those three? Other than WIlson what significance do they have to the modern prog scene? I know of Akerfeldt but not Duda.

Mariusz Duda is the shiz.  Front-man/bassist for Riverside, his solo project is Lunatic Soul.  He has great talent.

What about Antony Kalugin, for me is one of the most intresting figures in last 15 years in prog, involved in bands such as Karfagen, Sunchild , Hoggwash, all 3 excellent bands, unfairly unnoticed by prog circles.

I was reluctant to add Roine since he doesn't have the solo career the others have. Then again SW doesn't really have that many more solo albums than Roine. I think Roine might actually have more.

Wilson of course but I like Morse a lot as well . No idea that Stolt had a solo career.
btw are we counting 'The Neal Morse Band' as solo?! It isn't really any different than his solo albums other than he avoid overtly religious themes in the songs.

i would probably highlight Derek Sherinian whom has released a couple of strong metal fusion albums where have an amazing collection of stellar guitarists and Simon Phillips. After exiting DT he have had a very strong and prosporus carear as a solo muician

I can stand Morse and Stolt. Wilson, on the other hand...
Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.
