Very difficult to choose just one obviously...
Sorry to be boring, but I'll say The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway as it's probably my favourite prog album of all time. I could choose one album for various genre's but as this is a prog forum..I guess the Lamb is the one
This dilemma reminds me of the scene in 'The Boat That Rocked' where the ship is about to go down and we follow this old long haired hippie desperately trying to figure out which album to save.

I'm in the same boat as the others that said this is just a theoretical exercise, and that if this had to come to fruition it would be a sad day.
That said, i'm pretty much required to say Agalloch's The Mantle.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
Not my favorite, but if I could only listen to one album for life, it'd probably be this one. Any other album would feel incomplete on its own.
Just finished listening to this one. Thanks for the recommendation, I loved this. (In fact, I'm on my third listening to it right now. Played it all morning. Beautiful album.)

This is not my favourite album, but if it only had to be one, then Incantations by Mike Oldfield. Because it still gets better and better with each listen...
