Topic: Prolific Prolific Train Posted: September 29 2017 at 13:02 |
Big Big Train have released three albums and an EP in just a bit more than a year, all excellent. Which one would you choose as your favourite? I added London Song to the selection, even though this 34-minute epic has been made up by songs from these three albums and the Wassail EP, because I feel that it has some added value of its own. Now they're playing...

Probably Grimspound, but tbh I haven't listened to either this one or the second brightest star enough to vote properly.

Folklore - because I have the vinyl version with London Plane, Mudlarks and Lost Rivers of London on side 2.
Grimspound is very good, but Folklore will be hard (maybe impossible) to better.

If I swap the album titles, this would be very close to my opinion. All these releases are really good. Folklore reached the #4 position in my 2016 list, but it needs a miracle to thrust Grimspound from the top position of my 2017 list. Grimspound is even on par with EE1, which is one of the best 21th century prog albums in my book.
