Hey guys, I'd like some recommendations for rock bands/particular albums that sounds pastoral (think of Harmonium) or just warm and comfy (like Future Days or Part the Second). Post Rock, Eclectic Prog, Symph Prog, Krautrock, you name it (just no metal, please).

Again I want to plug Uzva, one of the best jazz/fusion/world/instrumental bands I have ever heard. Give them a try, especially Uoma (their third album).

I personally like the other two marginally better, but all three are outstanding, with not very much to choose between them.

To me its both warm and unsettling. The title is somewhat misleading but obviously a combination of the beautiful theme music from Cannibal Holocaust (their cover version is almost identical to the original) and Morte Macabre's symphonic take on vintage horror movie soundtracks. The whole album in drenched in warm mellotron and moog. One of the two Fabio Frizzi covers:
More often than not the italian soundtrack composers made stunningly melancholic scores to accompany their (often combined) zombie/cannibal/soft porn-flicks. Here's the original:

Sticking with Sweden in the mid-seventies one might also mention the Berits Halsband album - a jazzier affair, and with some charmingly rough edges, but lovely and warm. Like a favourite pair of slippers

Warmest album I can think of? Osibisa's Woyaya, which has filled my heart with joy since I was a small child (oddly it was the only rock LP my parents owned when I was small - later, when I got bigger, I stole it). Incredible production by Tony Visconti that will fill your living space with brass, flute, percussion, chiming guitars, ripe Hammond, phat bass and the most delightful voices. You can play this instead of turning on the central heating,
