I had forgotten that I (very very briefly) rode an early 1980's 350 and 500 Bullet, both Indian built.. they were just 'passing through my hands' Wink

and a very enjoyable ride.. particularly the 500. A local motorbike shop were one of the first to import them back into the UK but the first batches had major engine/ gearbox components either missing or so poorly manufactured that the bikes had to be completely re-built before sale.. I tried a few out for the owner of the shop after the rebuilds, prior to sale. My early 80's Russian flat twin 650's was somewhat similar and had to be completely re-built before it was any good... LOL

I looked at an 06 reg Triumph Bonneville a couple of weekends ago.. felt lovely and very comfortable for me but SO modern by the standard of the bikes i'm used to.. my wife said ''just ride the b****y bike and enjoy it rather than spending all the time with it in bits''.. My last bike (1976 Yamaha XS650 US import flat tracker) spent 7 years waiting to be restored and prior to that Russian 2 Ural & Dnieper 650's and a Moto Guzzi V50. I love bikes but just don't have the time, workshop space or (to be honest) Money these days! Wink

But yeah, I live not far from the former factory so almost every household has one around here.

I don't have a motorbike nor permit (or interest) though so for me it's either car or foot, which brings me to a pastime of mine: running. I run between 8 and 14 km's practically every week between nearby villages and woods (which almost burned this year Ouch

The eagle eyed here might have noticed that I'm a bit into electronics.

Had tons of hobbies - mainly target pistol shooting and archery. Generally, everything eventually gets left to one side and I go back to music again, or electronic design for musical instruments. ;-)

I play miniature wargames, so I spend quite a lot of time building and painting miniatures.

I also have an XBox One that sees frequent use.

With magic, you can turn a frog into a prince.

I'm a frequent movie-goer, but wouldn't call it a hobby or an obsession... And generally, it's not Hollywood or blockbusters I'm out after (though I did see BR2049 recently)

Other than music, reading is my big love (though I wouldn't call them "pass-times" or "hobbies" either)

Types of books:
- selected fiction authors
- music-related books
- geopolitics/history
- Franco-Belgian bande-dessinée (graphic novels)

Gardening would be more of a hobby.

Hi, I'm Michael. I'm 41, an Aries, and my obsessions outside of Prog are the following:

Seventies/Eighties/Nineties action flicks, obscure low-budget horror shockers and Seventies/Eighties erotica.

Archie comics.

Hallmark Christmas movies - the more lovey-dovey and schmaltzy the better (yes, freaking really - I am OBSESSED in them)!

Other than that - PROG ON!

The geek that I am reveals a bit here :
Outside of Prog and Metal listening / vinyl collecting (the music has to be worth the pressing.....) my main interests are Scuba diving and Conchology (hence my current avi - a very rare, peach coloured - though it looks yellow in the scan - Pterynotus Phyllopterus from Guadeloupe). Then I go for antique marbles, German Hand-Mades preferably. Amazing art-form. Oh, I love cooking a lot too. Who doesn’t ??

Sadly one is insatiable and the other is anorexic. No food control in the house (way too complicated) so it's all-you-can-eat all year long. The youngest one is kind of normal foodwise but so intrepid that it's rather scary sometimes.

Anyway, they live good happy lives and that's all that matters.

Collecting Vinyl and books. Reading. Walking and hiking. Photography. Botany and natural history (writing articles on Botany after field studies). Used to ride, restore and re-build motorbikes but haven't had one for 5 years (got a tractor instead!) and running my hobby plant nursery.
