Topic: IQ albums Posted: October 18 2017 at 14:24 |
Like I said, just pick the best... But just look at that set of albums! THE most consistent band in prog (for me). So it isn't easy I rate them all at least 4*. Most are 5*. Several are 10/10. But I think only TROB would be 25/25. Possibly even 100/100... I'm a fan. So let me know what you think...

BTW, I checked back through the first 20 pages of topics in this section to see whether there was a similar topic, but apologies if I didn't go back far enough! And I did have some fun on a few polls that I checked in on along the way...

Virtually impossible poll, but in a good way, because this is such a great band.
I will vote for Road of Bones, the latest in a line of classic prog, and so damned good as to beggar belief.

I was tempted to vote for Dark Matter since it's the only album I've listened to from this band and I really liked it, not sure why I never listened to more from them.. Anyway not really qualified to vote, but if I did it would be Dark Matter.

Lush Attic is the one that always gets my tits racing Never been fond of the 2 Menel albums, not ones I return to often (Nomzamo being the better of them) though Attic, The Wake, Ever and Road Of Bones are all OUT-f**kING-STANDING !!

Hard poll indeed. I like Lush a lot, but went for Subterranea as it has too many great tracks on it. The movie is good too.
I also like Seventh House as well....

I prefer their later period but am a fan of almost all of their albums. Dark Matter is my favourite and I'd probably go Frequency, Road Of Bones then Subterranea. Something like that but for sure Dark Matter is my number one.

I only own one IQ so I'll vote for that one, The Road Of Bones.

I haven't heard all so I won't vote. However, out of what I have heard I really enjoyed Dark Matter and Ever.

Had Lush Attic on an old cassette tape for years and not knowing anything about the band. Research on UK bands in the states is not easy prior to the internet. I was a big Genesis fan and this harkened back to old Genesis, I didn't even know there was a whole resurgence of Prog going on with Marillion, Twelfth Night, Pendragon... IQ was just another name to me, and I was lucky to have the music. When I finally started discovering the new world of Progressive Rock, Subterranea was one of the first I found. It will always be my favorite. Runners up include: Lush(of course), Frequency(did not expect that), and Ever. Looking at this poll however, it looks like I need to spend a little more time with Road of Bones.
