Again a classic album that upon first listen at least for me ,a very personal record 2112 an epic tale of an future where music is forbidden with a fantastic narrative about freedom ,i can tell you this one song that i rank up there with CLOSE TO THE EDGE,TARKUS and SUPPER,S READY being 14 yrs old .first time hearing this suite sent shivers up and down my spine. The second side was ok but TEARS and PASSAGE TO BANGKOK are decent songs ,one for the books especially being Canadian is just prog gold

Indeed a great song... my favourite from Rush... though perhaps not my favourite album, I guess that one would go for Moving Pictures. If you are interested in the music for being canadian perhaps you should check (or perhaps you already know them) Harmonium. Si on avait besoin d'un cinquiem saison is just wonderful. The other canadian I can think of that I really love (once again, you may already know him) is Devin Townsend... though that's modern prog metal instead of classic prog or hard rock.

For whatever reason, 2112 never resonated with me like it does with many (most?) Rush fans. Yeah, I know, weird right? I rarely listen to it anymore and much prefer Caress of Steel to it.
We all live in an amber subdomain, amber subdomain, amber subdomain.

Similar for me. I like it, but never thought it mindlblowing like some do. I also prefer Caress of Steel, even thought it's a less 'mature' album. The Fountain of Lamneth is among my favourite Rush tracks. Nothing off 2112 is on that list tbh.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

It doesn't 'resonate' much with me either....prefer Hemispheres, Kings, Waves, Pictures....
