Just a test. wondering which beginning song is most liked by the start of Permenant Waves or the beginning of Signals.

I have grown a soft spot for Subdivision such a great song

Spirit of Radio is good fun, but Subdivisions is one of their greatest songs. It really moves me.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Subdivisions by a nose, it's their best synth-era song by far.
Spirit is great too, it's a song from my fave Rush album ever - PeW.

My vote goes to Spirit of Radio, due the instrumental overture theme ! Simply outstanding !!!
But... I also  like Subdivisions very much !

I can take or leave a lot of Rush but love a dozen or so of their songs and Subdivisions is one of them.

Subdivisions for me.  Spirit has too many starts and stops and doesn't flow very well...it's always felt like a few separate bits glued together.  Fun...but not that great of a song compared to Subdivisions.

Spirit of Radio's opening riff is one of the greatest rock moments and it really helped put them on the map! Overplay on the rock radio stations has diminished it somewhat - but still great.

I love Subdivisions - even when I heard it previewed on the tour before it came out on vinyl. A slow burner that still sounds great to this day.

Spirit by a short head!

I'd vote subdivisions, probably because of radio overplay of spirit of radio.

sry, off topic question: How come i can vote in some polls but not others? i don't see it in the faq.
edit: i think maybe i got logged out or something weird/similar. nm :)

"Subdivisions."

Love the synths, the vox, Gedd's bass guitar tone, everything. They never sounded better, productionwise.
