Topic: The Best IQ Album Posted: November 09 2017 at 08:42 |
Fan favored NeoProg band IQ has been around a while, been through various lineup changes, and yet has managed to produce eight (8) highly rated albums over the past 35 years. Of these (ordered by average rating score, bottom to top), which do you think is their most significant contribution to Prog World?

Well...two separate questions would lead to two separate answers.
For the first...Either The Wake, Dark Matter, or The Road Of Bones.
For the second, either Tales..., or The Wake.
Since The Wake is the only one that appears in both my lists, I guess I'll vote for that.

The Wake - wonderfully dark and had a great effect on me. I love most of their other albums - very consistent - but you never forget your first love!

My two favorites have been Dark Matter and Frequency since they both came out...I think they are more mature and dynamic than Ever or the earlier ones....having said that I think Road of Bones is also very good but it doesn't grab me as much melodically as do the other two.

Road of Bones. Unlike many of you, I'm late to the IQ bandwagon. Yet, I own all their albums.

They're all excellent. Not a cat's chance in hell that I can pick one.

I have not heard all of these, but their earlier work, including Nomzamo and Are You Sitting Comfortably?, are in my collection. My favourite is The Wake.
