I'm not a fan of any of them, I'm afraid. I like Moshkito's suggestion of 200 Motels. The question didn't mention double albums, so I'll take advantage of that loophole and suggest SF Sorrow by the Pretty Things.

The Lamb. But Tommy or The Wall probably tell a better more coherent story, if that was your question. |

The Lamb for me as well.
Odd poll though. I get the 3 first choices as they widely are regarded as classics by prog fans from across the globe. The only (somewhat) modern album I can think of that qualifies as a 'classic' is Dream Theater's Metropolis pt 2. I'd still have voted for The Lamb.

I went for The Wall. Tommy is fantastic. TLLDOB is one that I still find difficult, although I know it is great. Snow I don't have, but know that I should. TSOAD I have, but have only listened to one disc once so far, but it sounded great and I'm sure I'll love it soon. Subby certainly should be there. And I would say that The Human Equation blasts them all out of the water

Had to vote for 'Snow' as it holds very good memories for me and is the best modern day concept - but obviously the 'Lamb' wins in reality. Allow me an indulgence! 😉
'Scenes from a Memory' by Dream Theater definitely deserves a mention - a great reincarnation story and quality prog-metal music, just a notch down from the classic 'Images and Words'. Not a double album, though (although it fills up a CD)
Much prefer 'Quadrophenia' to 'Tommy'!

It's one of my favorite things ever, seriously. But 200 Motels is foremost a MOVIE, with a soundtrack released after. It's not an album, the situation is far more complex.
As a CD album, it is a combination of classical music and rock/doo wop/even country, that don't actually tell the story outside of the movie. The rock/doo wop is just scene-setting transitions in the movie. I don't think it's a good idea to approach it as a concept album because it just isn't, it's a film soundtrack and score.
That being said, it still is a big unified piece (because it's a film soundtrack) with reoccurring melodies. An amazing work but cheers for mentioning.

Speaking of Zappa, I'll mention Joe's Garage and Thing Fish, both really entertaining stories. And in the case of Joe's Garage, surprisingly sentimental and moving

Basing of what I'm used to listen more, The Wall followed by Snow. The Lamb is one of the few Genesis albums that I don't dislike, but is not eveen comparable with Tommy

The Lamb out of these.
I will say I don't care for SB's Snow or have any interest in Neal Morse's albums.
