I get that. Another thing I hear in a lot of disco are these instrumental flourishes that can be like descending arpeggios but swirling. Sometimes you'll hear it in strings or with synths in electro-disco and otherwise.... Disco is a feeling, a feeling that can get inside you, and it may compel some people to shake that booty to dislodge that feeling deep inside or to enhance that feeling. I guess that would make it more like a tapeworm than an earworm, so that didn't come out quite right.

"No-one will say Hawkwind disco! Until I am dead" No, I am not absolutely serious, half.

Because funky rhythms (funky grooves) are so common in disco, I quite often link the two (of course there's a lot of disco funk and very funky disco). I guess a difference between the two as distinct genres has to do with the harmonies (not sure how distinct a genre funk even is). I'm sometimes not sure where funk ends and disco begins and vice versa. A lot of disco is funky, but then so is a lot of rock that isn't disco. To me the Tangerine Dream reminds me more of the disco umbrella than funk per se, even if it is quite funky in its beat (part of my association has to do with the technology). I'm hardly an expert on this, mind you. I'll probably learn some new things.

I remember composing a post for this poll comparing the three tracks, but I was not happy with the results which I thought too negative and so I didn't post it.

Tangerine Dream for me very easily. I actually dislike the other two, partially because of the vocals. That said, between the Eloy and Hawkwind, I would choose the Eloy. The Hawkwind lacks subtlety and polite refinement, is too cock rockish, hard rock, guitar hero-type driven type music (that said, I like Tim Blake and Ginger Baker a lot).

I chose Hawkwind. Some interesting drumming by Ginger Baker.

I'm going with the majority here and voting Eloy. I really liked that track. Maybe I should spin the whole album. It's been a long time and I am after all completely smitten by its successor 'Planets'.

That Hawkwind is quite tasty.

I Love all three but Motorway City comes first, Eloy second and Tangerine dream a very close third :)

I remember exactly zero of these (haven't heard the Hawkwind though)
Lemme get back to you after I relish in these (hopefully) danceable tunes

Good to see my favourite winning, I thought Hawkwind would be ahead.

Ooh, Tangerine Dream all the way for me, baby, very cool dancier track!

It's funny, I can't play Youtube clips on my work computer, so I was kind of trying to guess which track this was off the top of my head, I was thinking `I wonder if that's the one from `Exit' that kind of sounds like it could come from a `Beverley Hills Cop' movie - it wasn't, turns out that was `Choronzon'
I also searched for Chronozon when I was looking for this one, it's certainly a more memorable song and title :P

^ Exit is very good !!
My vote goes to Eloy though. Colours is full of magic. And no, not because of the bare-bum butterfly girl
